I'd like to think I've combined some clever functionality here, going beyond more than just an artsy style exercise.

The legs were designed to slip under the edge of a couch or easy chair, allowing the table to sneek further into your lap by 5 or 6 inches. While too narrow for most peoples 2, it straddles one leg nicely. Nice for a laptop.

The top is 3/4" oak,
glued up with an
inlayed purpleheart border.
A slender drawer
quietly slips
between the legs,
virtually
disappearing.
Note: there are
diagonal guides
to tuck it up
and away.

the legs are two thicknesses of 3/4" plywood,
glued. a large radius curve was edge routed
in the plane of the wood.

after extensive sanding, it was painted gloss black, filled, resanded, and repainted several times. hi-gloss and satin
polys were tested, ending with satin. total 10 coats.
